Domestic Travel, Beach Travel, and International Travel


My husband and I like a variety of travel. As you know, it is our goal to go somewhere every month of the year, except December as we like to be home for the holidays with family. We have again traveled every month this year. We traveled to Playa Del Carmen in January and New York in February. We cruised to Belize, Cozumel, and Costa Maya on the Smooth Jazz Cruise in March. We went to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon in April. We went back to New York to see Denzel Washington on Broadway in May. We cruised again in June to Aruba, Curacao, St. Thomas, and St. Kitts. We went to Detroit, Michigan and hopped over to Windsor Canada in July. We also went back to Mexico to Maroma Beach in July for a long weekend. We went to Europe (Portugal and Italy) in August. We went to Myrtle Beach, SC in September. We went to Orlando and New Orleans in October. We also went to Spokane Washington and Coeur d’Alene Idaho in November. We will summarize our travels and note all of the highlights in our 2018 year in review blog to be published in December.

As you can see, we like to mix domestic travel, beach travel, and international travel into our travel plans each year. Each type of trip has its appeal to us. We enjoy the beauty and sanctity of the beach. We have started cruising more to see more of the Caribbean, but we prefer to balance cruising with actual beach resort vacations. The beach is where we feel most relaxed and most in awe of the beauty God created. So, we like to be able to just relax on the beach for hours and hours. However, we like to balance enjoying the beach, both domestically and internationally, with other types of vacations. 

We enjoy domestic travel because America is so beautiful and diverse. There is so much to see in our great country. We have a goal of visiting every state in the Union and all of the territories. My husband is further along than I, but I am well over half way there. It is too soon to discuss our favorite states but because we love the beach, you can guess Florida is on that list as is Hawaii. 

In addition to the U.S., we want to see the world. Traveling abroad expands your mind in a way that nothing else can. You see all the places you read about. You meet the people and experience the cultures you hear about. You realize we are more alike than different and that our differences make us better as world citizens. We have so much more of the world to see but we are taking steps to do so every month and every year that we are blessed to live. Live, Love, Laugh, and Travel!!! Travel is Like a Box of Chocolates!

Travel  in 2021 was like a box of chocolates. You never knew what you were going to get. However, we were all excited to just be able to  travel  again, even if there were limitations and restrictions. Always A New Part of This Wonderful World to See

Our 2022  Travels We had amazing  travels  in 2022. We went to Costa Rica, Myrtle Beach, New York, Spain, Las Vegas, Atlanta, and  toured our new home base in Florida. We explored brand  new places which were Costa Rica, the Netherlands and  Spain. Part of the goal of  travel  should be to experience new things, learn new things, explore different cultures, and  enjoy yourself. I know many people who  travel  to the same places over and over or go to the same types of places (Caribbean only, Europe only, etc.). Carl and I want to see the whole world so our  blog  will reflect that. It Just Keeps Getting Better - 2019 Year In Review

Friends - God is good! We thank the Lord for His mercy and His grace. His word is true!! God has shown that He has a plan for our lives, a wonderful future and a hope. He has opened up the windows of heaven and has poured out blessings that we do not have room enough to hold.  In 2019, Carl and I definitely lived, loved, and traveled. As far as living, we had ups and one major down. We lost the matriarch of our family after 87 years of her beautiful spirit gracing this planet. We know she is in heaven and we will see her again when we take our final trip to our heavenly home. It was our privilege and honor to be her primary caregivers for a number of years!
