Around The World and Back Again

February 2019 was a dream travel month. We literally were on 3 different continents and were in 4 countries including the U.S. (going to the West Coast of the U.S.). We traveled around the world and back again. We went from home to Egypt via Frankfurt. Then, we went to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, to India, and home via London. Our trip was full of highlights and dreams come true.

We traveled for about 3 weeks consecutively. In Egypt, we met the most amazing people and saw the most amazing places. We saw the Egyptian Museum which is full of history that you can read about on-line. The ancient culture that the artifacts represent struck me the most. We saw the Great Pyramids and went inside 2 of them. The awesomeness of the structures and the strength and pride of this African nation struck me the most. We saw the rebuilt library at Alexandria which is part of the University. We also took a dinner cruise on the Nile River. We ate amazing food and were accompanied by extraordinary people. We saw some of the most beautiful mosques, including the Hasan Mosque. Tips for Egypt - go with a native Egyptian or pay one to take you around and stay with you to help you navigate the experience.

From Egypt we flew to Dubai and then took a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. We loved Dubai and also truly enjoyed Abu Dhabi. In Dubai, instead of an excursion, we treated ourselves to a stay at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah! It is one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. It so lived up to the hype!!! It is is the nicest resort I have ever stayed in - amazing service, gorgeous room, amazing food. Just phenomenal!! We did go to the Dubai Mall which words can not describe and went up into the Burj Khalifi. In Abu Dhabi, we did a hop on hop off bus and a dessert safari which is indescribable. You must do it if you get the chance!! The Grand Mosque is an absolute marvel! Surprises on this leg of the trip were how beautiful the beach is in Dubai. The Persian Gulf is gorgeous! Also, the dessert safari was a surprisingly fun adventure - sandboarding and riding camels were added bonuses. It is also astonishing how wealthy the United Arab Emirates is. No luxury is spared. It is pure opulence. Dubai was a "place for me". If I were 20 years younger, I would live there for a few years.

The final leg of the trip was India. We were in Delhi India but we took a short hop to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Go with a tour guide so you can see everything and get the full story of the monument built to symbolize love (a mausoleum of a King's second wife who was the love of his life). You must go to India and visit the Taj Mahal. Prepare yourself though. There are so many people in India!! The people are amazing but prepare yourself for a massive population. It was a once in a lifetime experience!

Upon return from India, we went to San Francisco which I have written about before. We went around the world and back again, at least it felt that way. It was an amazing experience to share with the love of my life!! Live, Love, and Travel!!
